Fixing a Failed Waterproof Deck Part 1

It ain’t glamorous work, but someone’s gotta do it.  We’ve been called in to fix many a bad waterproofing job over the past several years (like this one).  The latest is particularly sad as it’s a 5 year old custom home.  No one wants to build a home and then get stuck with a big repair bill a few years later.

Why doesn’t the original builder have to fix it?

Good question.  The builder is no longer in business and skipped town anyway.  Sadly, there isn’t much recourse for a homeowner in these situations without tens of thousands of dollars in legal bills to try to extract some kind of settlement with no assurance you’ll be successful.  At that point you might as well find a trustworthy contractor to do it right (yeah, that’s us!) and get on with life.
