Today we’re starting a unique project: replacing windows in a log home. This isn’t the kind of job where everything is standard – each opening is different, and until we pull a few windows, we don’t know exactly what we’ll find. The big challenge will be figuring out how to flash and seal them so they stay watertight.
On day one, it’s all about discovery. We’re pulling the old vinyl windows, peeling back the trim, and seeing what the logs and framing give us to work with. Every opening has its own quirks, so we’ll be adapting as we go.
For now, it’s just a first look at the process. We’ll share more as the project takes shape, including the installation of the big patio doors and retractable screens – so stay tuned for what we find next!
