Camas Hilltop House: Project Overview

Modern hillside house with glass balcony, stepped terraces, plantings.

We’re excited to introduce the Camas Hilltop House, a custom home we’re building on a hillside overlooking Camas, Washington. It’s a complex, multi-structure project that brings together a talented design and engineering team and a client with a clear vision.

The home includes a main residence, guest house, pool, pool house, and well house, all designed to sit comfortably on the site and connect with the landscape. With multiple structures, grade changes, and detailed site coordination, it’s the kind of project that rewards thoughtful planning and teamwork from the very beginning.

We joined the project during the structural engineering phase, after the architectural design was well underway. The homeowners had already assembled an excellent design team: Architect Marty Buckenmeyer, Interior designer Donna DuFresne, Landscape Architect Brian Bainnson, Jake Wright with Vista Structural, and True North for both stormwater and geotechnical work. Marty coordinated the effort across all disciplines, making sure everything aligned — structure, drainage, and grading all connected cleanly.

Our role is to carry that design vision through construction. That means coordinating the details, sequencing the work, and bringing together the right team of craftspeople and trade partners to execute it well.

Over the coming months, we’ll share progress updates from the field and dive into some of the decisions that shape how a project like this comes together — from foundation to finishes.

The Camas Hilltop House represents the kind of work we love: collaborative, detailed, and built around a strong design.
