Inset Door Style Kitchen Remodel
The existing plan had a large peninsula that cut off the kitchen from the adjacent sitting area. The finishes were dated and storage was poor. The owner wanted an island layout and painted cabinets. Their style (and the houses style) is decidedly traditional and they wanted the kitchen to reflect that.
Our designer Stephanie worked closely with our clients to create a layout built around a large island with seating and lots of storage. The beautifully designed and handcrafted inset door style cabinets came from our shop and feature wonderful furniture style details. Each and every element was painstakingly planned for a perfect fit. Not only are the cabinets scribed to the walls, but they’re scribed to the floor as well (which was out of level by more than 3/8″). This means no extra moldings to clutter the clean design. The swooping custom hood enclosure has corbels that are in line with the point of the tiles. Meticulous planning and flawless execution equals stunning results.
Building the Inset Style Cabinets

We’ve compiled his IG posts for this build so you can see the process from beginning to end.
Inset doors and drawers require precision. Add to that scribing to the out of level floor, a fully integrated toe kick detail and a host of custom touches that only our Cliff Ham and Stephanie Tottingham would think of and you end up with a pretty special project. ...
